If you haven’t yet seen it please check out the front page Banner-Herald article on WIT’s Neighborhood Leaders and their work at the Park on Broad apartment complex.
This is a great example of the organizational alignment that happens through the WIT process: Neighborhood Leaders identifying the need and driving the solution, UGA WIT identifying tutors, CCSD supplying furniture, and private business(Walmart) donating school supplies.

Volunteer Job Description
Position: After School Program Volunteer
What does this position entail?
You would be working with students in the Clarke Middle School after school program. You can either work with students on: homework, Successmaker and V-math (online study programs); alternatively, if you have any ideas for particular activities that are both fun and educational for the students we can work that out as well.
What days and times are you expected to work?
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:45.
You must be able to commit to coming each of these days and be on time for each session. If for any reason you are unable to come you will need to let the after school program coordinators know. The after school program will continue to run through April 27th with the following dates being days that the program will not run: March 12-16; March 28-30; and April 2.
How do you become a volunteer for this program?
You will need to complete a background check consent form and wait on the school district offices to clear you. You will also need to be fingerprinted at the district office. Information on how this works will be given to you once you express an interest in working with the program. All required forms, etc. are free of charge.
If you are interested in volunteering for this program please contact Lauren Medina at lauren.medina@witathens.org or at 706-543-6547 extension 23355.
